WHO WE ARE
Established in 2003, by Dr. John T. Everett, Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) began within the fisheries and oceans communities. Currently, Dr. Everett serves as President and is one of our Senior Associates. Kristin Vehrs is the Majority Owner, and Juleen Savarese serves as our CEO, overseeing the overall management of the company.
OAI is structured as a flexible organization with a management team available 24/7/365, capable of serving customers worldwide. Our employees are stationed in locations ranging from Gloucester, Massachusetts, to the Western Pacific Island Territories, and from the Arctic to the Antarctic.
Our organization consists of experts in various fields, including scientific and administrative projects, aquaculture, wildlife health and conservation, data management, modeling, information technology, engineering, acquisition office support, accreditation, outreach and education, federal policy, regulation, and law enforcement support. We employ Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Environmental Policy Experts, Data Management Experts, Statisticians, Field and Research Scientists, Laboratory Scientists, Boat Operators, Deckhands, and other professionals in diverse subject areas. Our Senior Associates are seasoned professionals in their respective fields who provide expert advice in support of ongoing efforts with our project management teams.

Our largest federal customer is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) within the Department of Commerce. The skills and experience we’ve developed allow us to effectively support the mission areas of various federal agencies. Our primary focus includes federal organization management, environmental research, IT, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement programs.
OAI is licensed to operate in over 25 states and has consultants and subcontractors across additional states and countries.
